On the opening day of Karnataka’s tour match against Lancashire at the KSCA Stadium in Alur, Samit Dravid, the son of India’s head coach Rahul Dravid, displayed some impressive stroke play. On the first day of the practise match, Karnataka posted 356 thanks to a 25-ball innings from Samit. However, Samit drew the attention of cricket fans with a flawlessly timed square cut that bore similarities to his father Rahul. Joshua Boyden, a Lancashire spinner, bowled a short delivery to Samit on the first ball of the 26th over. Samit moved his weight to the backfoot and smashed a boundary past point.

Samit was eventually removed by Jack Morley at first slip after Luke Wells made a sharp catch.

With a pitch on the middle, Morley’s delivery veered slightly away from Samit, who was beaten by the ball’s bounce, kissing his gloves before heading straight to Wells.
