The pre-season camp of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) commenced on Saturday, with the presence of pacer Deepak Chahar, who aims for a national comeback through consistent performances for his franchise in the IPL starting from March 22.

According to a Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) official, the first batch of local (Indian) players arrived on Friday, including Simarjeet Singh, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Mukesh Choudhary, Prashant Solanki, Ajay Mandal, and Deepak Chahar. Chahar, who hasn’t played since December due to personal reasons, declared himself fully fit last month at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, eyeing a comeback for the T20 World Cup scheduled in June.

While the arrival of skipper MS Dhoni is yet to be confirmed, CSK is set to kick off its IPL 2024 campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on March 22. Dhoni was recently seen attending a pre-wedding function in Jamnagar with his wife Sakshi.
