The Indian team, with 74 points, holds a higher position than Australia in the standings because of their superior points percentage (PCT). As per the ICC’s playing conditions for the World Test Championship, PCT is given priority over the total points earned in a cycle.
The league-stage matches of the WTC 2023-25 cycle are set to conclude in January 2025. The final match will feature the top two teams in the standings, scheduled to take place at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London in June of the following year.
