Mayank Yadav is the talk of the town. The cause? His unadulterated speed. Throughout this IPL, he has already broken the 155 km/h barrier several times. His fastest delivery to date, recorded at 156.7 km/h, was the fastest of the 17th season of the competition, according to the broadcasters. Prior to that, in the same match, Mayank had bowled a 155.6 km/h pearler. At the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday, Cameron Green of Royal Challengers Bengaluru was bowled both of those balls.
A few days prior, on his IPL debut against the Punjab Kings, Mayank Yadav had bowled a 155.8 km/h screamer. These two rockets came from him. Mayank has found success with more than just his speed. It’s his accuracy and reluctance to try different things. It’s easy. The batters struggle as he dashes in and bangs the ball in just short of the good-length area.
