The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) has scheduled an interview with former Indian international Gautam Gambhir via Zoom for Tuesday at 12 PM for the head coach position of the Indian men’s cricket team.
With the T20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies coming up, coach Rahul Dravid’s tenure is almost coming to an end. This interview comes at a critical moment.
The former cricket players Ashok Malhotra, Jatin Paranjpe, and Sulakshana Naik, who make up the CAC, are in charge of interviewing candidates for the head coach position as well as a selector position that will take Salil Ankola’s place.
The spotlight is firmly on Gambhir and his vision for Indian cricket, with the BCCI stating that, contrary to assertions made by Ricky Ponting and Justin Langer, no former Australian players were asked to be head coaches.
Applications for this esteemed post were invited by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in mid-May, with a deadline set for May 27, the day following the IPL final.
