Australian cricketer Steve Smith has stated that other hitters on the team must assist star player Virat Kohli, who is under a lot of pressure for the Royal Challengers Bangalore this season. In the IPL 2024, Kohli has been Bangalore’s lone warrior, amassing 203 runs at an astounding average of 67.66 in four matches. With 90 runs in as many games, Dinesh Karthik, the second-best batter, is far behind.
Despite Kohli’s reliability, Bangalore has struggled, dropping to as low as seventh place in the standings after three straight losses.
Thus far, the batting performances of Glenn Maxwell, captain Faf du Plessis, and Cameron Green have been lacklustre.
