On Friday, March 8th, during the ICC World Test Championship series against Australia in Christchurch, New Zealand’s top Test run-scorer and their second-highest wicket-taker in the format both celebrated their 100th Test cap.
Kane Williamson and Tim Southee, stalwarts of the New Zealand team, are aiming to secure their first Test win against their trans-Tasman rivals since 2011 and hope to make significant contributions to mark this momentous occasion. Southee and Williamson join an elite group of just five other Black Caps players who have reached the milestone of 100 Test matches.
Notably, they played together in the 2008 U19 World Cup, competed in the 2011, 2015, 2019, and 2023 World Cups, and are now marking their 100th Test appearance together.
