India is the top-ranked T20 team going into the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup.
West Indies, the reigning champions, are now ranked fourth in the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings thanks to some excellent form from their players before the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup, which they will co-host from June 1–29.
The tournament’s 2012 and 2016 winners are now in front of New Zealand and South Africa following their 3-0 victory over the latter, who dropped to eighth on the list headed by India.
India, the 2007 winners, lead the field with 264 rating points, followed by Australia, the 2021 champions, who have 257 points, England, the reigning champions, who have 254 points, and the West Indies, who have 252 points, who are two points behind. Pakistan and South Africa both have 244 points, with Pakistan having a marginal advantage in decimal points over New Zealand.
Shortly before they play their opening match of the tournament in Guyana on June 2 against Papua New Guinea, the West Indies players have also benefited from their outstanding performances in the home series.
