Would he or would he not? The main concern with Virat Kohli’s participation in the T20 World Cup is that. Since making his debut, Kohli has not missed an ICC tournament for India. However, on June 1, a prominent Indian news daily revealed that Kohli might be dropped, putting him at risk of missing the World Cup. Though he has only played two Twenty20 Internationals for India since November 2022, the former captain is still fully committed to the T20 World Cup and the BCCI’s plans, as more details emerged on Tuesday.

A statement from BCCI’s chairman of selectors, Ajit Agarkar, comes as a bit of reassurance to Virat’s legions of fans amid reports that there was no way Kohli was going to miss the flight to the USA and West Indies. India’s T20 World Cup squad is expected to be chosen between the last week of April and the first week of May. The former all-rounder for India, Agarkar, praised Kohli’s fitness and how it has influenced Indian cricket’s future.
