Rohit Sharma beats Yuvraj Singh’s 17-year-old six-hitting record for an Indian batsman in the T20 World Cup.

On Monday, June 24, Team India crushed Australia in a run-fest in Saint Lucia, which is not a phrase used often in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, a batting paradise. The foundation of the 205-run score was established by Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who slammed a punishing 41-ball 92, one of the greatest knocks of his T20I career, including eight sixes during his aggressive effort against Australia.

Rohit not only became the first player in history to hit 200 T20I sixes, but he also scored 13 maximums in the ongoing T20 World Cup, the highest by any Indian player in a single edition of the men’s game. Rohit also had the most sixes by an Indian batter in a T20 World Cup innings, breaking Yuvraj’s record of seven.
