Virat Kohli has had a tremendous influence on the cricket world and the sports world at large during the last ten years. Because of his enormous impact, cricket was added to the Olympic schedule for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

One of the most distinguishing aspects of Kohli’s career has been his unquenchable thirst for runs, which has left both fans and pundits wondering what motivates him to strive for perfection at all costs. Just before their pivotal IPL encounter against CSK on May 18, Kohli answered this question at the RCB’s Royal Gala Dinner in Bengaluru. According to the 35-year-old Kohli, it’s very easy. I believe that athletes have a set amount of time for their careers to terminate. I’m only going backwards from here. I can’t keep going on and on forever, so I don’t want to end my career wondering, “Oh, what if I had done this on that particular day.”

Thus, the only thing to remember is to do everything that needs to be done and to not look back, which I know I won’t do.”
