Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was honored with the Player-of-the-Series award on March 9, attributed his remarkable success in the five-Test series against England to his fearless approach as the opening batsman.

Concluding the series with 712 runs, including two centuries and three fifties, Jaiswal maintained an average of 89 and a striking rate of 80. “I was solely focused on taking down the bowler whenever possible. That was the strategy, and I remained committed to it,” Jaiswal expressed during the post-series presentation.

Last week, he was recognized as one of the ICC Men’s Player of the Month Nominees for February. Jaiswal’s nomination marks his first entry into the ICC Player of the Month awards, following an exceptional month in Tests against England. Despite India initially trailing 1-0 in the series, they managed to overturn the deficit largely due to the outstanding form of their young opener. Consecutive double centuries in Visakhapatnam and Rajkot, with the latter equaling the record for most sixes in a Test innings with 12, highlighted his exceptional performance. With additional runs in the fourth Test, the 22-year-old concluded February with a total of 560 runs at an impressive average of 112.
