Mustafizur Rahman’s incredible four-wicket haul and Shivam Dube’s calm 34* innings helped Chennai Super Kings defeat Royal Challengers Bangalore by a commanding six wickets.
Batters Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik’s spectacular 95-run partnership helped RCB rally to a respectable total of 173.
But rookie Rachin Ravindra made some incredible shots to help CSK get off to a fast start, which was crucial. RCB appeared to be lacking concentration in the field, giving up too many simple overthrows despite prompt dismissals from players like Cameron Green. This is where CSK’s relentless running between the wickets hurt the visitors’ chances.
A fifty-point partnership between Jadeja and Dube, along with some astute shot selection by Shivam Dube, appeared to help Chennai win easily at home.
