An MS Dhoni batting moment is what fans of the Chennai Super Kings and cricket fans in general look forward to during the IPL. Even at 42, you never know which season or game will mark Dhoni’s last appearance in the game. Fans therefore want to cherish every moment they have with MSD, primarily so they can watch him bat and catch a glimpse of his former self. This season, Chepauk has yet to see it. On Monday, Ravindra Jadeja made a playful gesture that nearly stole that moment from Chepauk just before Thala left the field to a thunderous cheer during the Kolkata Knight Riders game.
After Shivam Dube was dismissed by KKR in the 17th over of their match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Jadeja was seen coming out to bat in a video that went viral on the internet early on Tuesday. The sight of it surprised very few people in the CSK dugout, but it infuriated the crowd as they waited for Dhoni to bat next. The CSK dugout was left stunned when the all-round player, who had taken three wickets in the first innings of the match, turned and walked laughing back towards the pavilion.
